ABOUT IJM

International Justice Mission is a human rights agency whose mission is to protect people from violent forces of injustice by securing rescue and restoration for victims and ensuring public justice systems work for the vulnerable.

IJM protects people in poverty

by partnering with local

justice systems to:

Strengthen Justice Systems

Collaborate with justice systems and community leaders to respond effectively to violence. Together, they design improvements that serve survivors, deter criminals and dramatically decrease violence.

Rescue and Restore Victims

Partner with local authorities to rescue individual victims of violence and restore survivors to safety and stability.

Bring Criminals to Justice

Relentlessly pursue justice in court to ensure that traffickers, slave owners, rapists and other criminals are brought to justice.

IJM ROMANIA

NEARLY 2 MILLION PEOPLE ARE ENSLAVED IN EUROPE

Many have fallen victim to trafficking in persons due to a fragmented, individualized criminal justice response. Traffickers profit from the trade of humans with relative impunity as law enforcement across the region struggle to unify efforts to combat trafficking across borders

Alongside their partners, IJM has launched an anti-trafficking program with the aim of building a cohesive, cross-border regional response. The longterm goal of the program is to protect 12 million people who would be vulnerable to trafficking from Romania, Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria.
